Waves Scheps Omni Channel

Waves’ new plug-in Scheps Omni Channel is creating a lot of excitement in the ITB mixing community. Developed in collaboration with mix engineer Andrew Scheps (Resolution V15.7, October 2016) the plug-in includes saturation, EQ, compression, a mic pre, de-esser and noise gate modules. Any of the modules can be drag-and-dropped to change the signal path and there’s also an insert slot so you can load any other Waves plugin at any stage of the signal path.
Scheps has racked up an astounding discography including records from Hozier, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Black Sabbath, Jake Bugg, Lana Del Rey, U2, Metallica, Gogol Bordello, not to mention Johnny Cash, Neil Diamond and Michael Jackson. Waves has previously developed the quirkily-skinned Parallel Particles and Scheps 73 EQ with Andy, but the new channel strip seems to have generated genuine interest, perhaps indicating it is a harder task to design such a multi-purpose plug-in than many developers imagine.
