CEDAR Studio 9 for Windows and Adaptive Limiter plug-in

Previously available only on the Mac, CEDAR Audio is extending the use of its CEDAR Studio 9 to the PC. This is the latest version of the company’s audio processing and restoration suite for AAX Native, VST2, VST3 and AU formats, and includes the latest version of Retouch with its machine-learning Matching and AI-driven Repair capabilities.

Pension-off the dongle! CEDAR Studio 9 is now iLok compatible on PC as well as Mac, making it quicker and easier for users to test and purchase processes, getting them up and running faster and with no need for the HSP dongle. Cedar Studio 9 DNS includes both DNS One and DNS Two, targetting all dialogue noise suppression requirements in post and elsewhere. CEDAR Studio 9 Restore incorporates eight algorithms – Declick, Decrackle, Auto Dehiss, Declip 2, Debuzz, Adaptive Limiter, as well as Manual Declick and Dethump – for all audio restoration needs. Containing all 11 processes from the other CEDAR Studio 9 packages, CEDAR Studio 9 Complete is the unsurpassed plug-in suite for noise suppression and restoration.

CEDAR Studio 9 for PC is compatible with AAX Native on Pro Tools v11 onward, as well as VST2, VST3 and AU. Retouch is also supplied as a standalone application. Since VST and AU are streaming environments, Manual Declick and Dethump are available for AAX only. There is no charge to users for transferring from an existing HSP licence to an iLok licence. If the upgrade to CEDAR Studio 9 involves the addition of new processes, users can take advantage of the company’s upgrade prices.

Mix and mastering engineers get a stand-alone CEDAR plug-in! “Unlike a traditional limiter or a multi-band device, the Adaptive Limiter employs a unique and amazingly transparent algorithm that limits the amplitude of the output while retaining the integrity of the input,” the company says. “With its peak and oversampling modes, advanced resampling and noise shaping capabilities, integrated metering and elegant operation, it’s ideal for mixing, final mastering and other creative duties.”

The Adaptive Limiter is iLok compatible on both the Mac and PC, and supports AAX Native, AAX AudioSuite, VST2, VST3 and AU plug-in formats. Supported operating systems include Mac OS-X 10.10 and later, and Windows 10 and later. The CEDAR Adaptive Limiter is priced at £300 and is available now.
