SoundGirls to host inclusive virtual conference

Posted on: Wednesday 13th of October 2021

Soundgirls LogoSoundGirls, the non-profit established to provide support and empowerment for women and non-binary persons working in professional audio, has announced the roster for its upcoming Virtual Conference, due to take place on December 4th and 5th, 2021. With women, non-binary and BIPOC still making up only 5% of the professional workforce in audio and music production, SoundGirls is committed to encouraging and assisting women and under-represented individuals with a desire to attain success in the audio industry. The two-day SoundGirls Virtual Conference is an event open to all those with a “passion for audio and music.”

It offers a programme designed to appeal to audio veterans, beginners and students, with presentations from a wide range of women, men, and non-binary professionals in multiple roles and careers, featuring sessions in post-production, recording, live, theater production, broadcast, and more. The Conference also offers networking opportunities with peers and industry professionals. And the SoundGirls Mexico City chapter will present several sessions in Spanish.

“SoundGirls has always existed to provide a support network for women and non-binary people working in pro audio, and to create opportunities for education and growth,” remarked Karrie Keyes, Co-Founder.

“Even though we’ve made great strides in recent years, the industry is still sorely lacking in women, non-binary, and people of color across all sectors. The roster for the SoundGirls Virtual Conference intentionally draws from a cross-section of experts in our industry, providing greater representation by women and non-binary people and those who support them.”

The SoundGirls Virtual Conference begins on December 4th, 2021 at 12:00am PST, and runs through 11:59pm PST on December 5, 2021. Tickets are available for either day, or an All-Access Pass that grants access to all sessions, panels, networking, and mentoring. All attendees will receive full access to an on-demand video archive of all sessions. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit this link.
