RØDE announces first headphones: the NTH-100 over-ears

RØDE has announced its debut in the headphone market in the shape of the its NTH-100 over-ear headphones. Key features include custom-matched 40mm drivers, based around a custom voice coil with a four-layer ultra-high-tension aluminium alloy as its core, coupled to a triple-layer Mylar®diaphragm; precision-engineered acoustic construction; Alcantara earcup and headband cushions, with an ergonomic design for the former that includes memory foam cushions to increase isolation and CoolTech gel for reducing fatigue.
The system also touts with adjustable headband with FitLok locking system, rugged, construction and modular design for durability.
Designed and made in Sydney, Australia, the NTH-100s are a product RØDE’s CEO, Damien Wilson, is “incredibly proud of,” saying that they “are the best in their class.”
The NTH-100s offer a “sound signature akin to open-backs but with all the advantages of closed-backs, including superior passive attenuation of external noise and no issues with spill when recording in close proximity to a microphone” making them a perfect fit for RØDE’s range that very much targets streamers and content creators, as well as musicians and traditional studio professionals
