Riverside Studios Cologne – orchestral recording
Posted on: Tuesday 24th of September 2019
In September 2019 Riverside Studios Cologne opened its doors to orchestral recording for the new animated feature film YAKARI. The sessions were engineered by former Abbey Road engineer Jonathan Allen. The Riverside Studios offer full soundtrack services, including musicians selected by conductor Miki Kekenj.
The main live room “The Hall” is 16 feet high, a warm acoustic with custom made 45 piece Headphone system and beautiful Steinway D piano (played by artists like Lang Lang and Alan Broadbent). Hall is regularly used for jazz, classical and instrumental tracking (like drums) and can link with 3 other rooms at the same time.
Ralf Kemper founded this facility, filled with natural light, to bring world class recording opportunities to the heart of Cologne. He’s built a big selection of vintage and modern equipment, including Pultecs, Fairchilds, an 8 track-2 inch Studer A820. (DAW include Protools, Sequoia, Logic & Cubase) and a great collection of vintage and modern microphones.
